A Best Buy leak reveals GTA 6 pre-order campaign starting May 18, 2026, with a November release. Read about the rumors and what Take-Two might announce.

It appears that Rockstar Games is gearing up for GTA 6 pre-orders. A Best Buy partner program letter has surfaced online, referencing a promotional campaign titled 'Pre-order GTA 6 (physical copy)' scheduled for May 18-21, 2026. YouTuber Frogboyx1Gaming shared the news, and later ResetEra, GTA Forums, and Cheap Ass Gamer confirmed it.

This is specifically a Best Buy affiliate marketing campaign with a 5% commission for participants, not a limited pre-order window. Orders are expected to be possible until the release date, currently set for November 19.

Based on discussions, the letter looks like an internal marketing email. Major retailers have leaked similar communications before big releases. Players also noticed the date coincidence: Take-Two Interactive has a financial conference on May 21.

According to a widely shared theory online, the publisher's plan could be: May 18—pre-orders begin alongside a major ad campaign; May 19–20—building initial results and record sales; May 21—Take-Two management might announce the biggest pre-order launch in gaming history during the earnings report.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously said GTA 6 won't be delayed further. Reports also indicate Rockstar is working overtime to finish development by November.

Amid the new rumors, players are again debating the game's price. Analysts earlier speculated it could go up to $100, but later forecasts suggest a more typical $80 price point.
