Xiaomi 17 Max brings a groundbreaking 200MP Leica camera with 115MB file sizes, 6.9-inch display, 8000mAh battery. A bold flagship for photography enthusiasts.
The upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max continues to gather unusual details. Its main highlight will be Xiaomi's first-ever 200-megapixel primary camera, developed in partnership with Leica. But it's not just the resolution that grabs attention—according to rumors, a single full-quality shot can take up nearly 115 MB of storage.
Sources say Xiaomi has already shown a test photo taken with the new camera, and its file size was 114.97 MB. For context, even many current 200MP smartphones typically produce files around 50–100 MB.
The company is not just focusing on megapixels. Xiaomi president Lu Weibing stated that the camera will feature a large 1/1.4-inch sensor and an advanced multi-frame image stacking system. This approach is expected to improve dynamic range, enhance detail, and boost night photography quality.
According to Xiaomi, photos from the 17 Max retain high sharpness even after heavy cropping. That's why the phone is already being called one of the brand's most ambitious camera phones.
Given the enormous file sizes, a version with more storage is becoming particularly relevant. Users are already joking that the base 256 GB might not be enough—just ten full-resolution photos would take up over a gigabyte.
Rumors also point to a 6.9-inch display, an 8,000 mAh battery, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and a 3x periscope telephoto lens. The smartphone is expected in black, blue, and white.
Xiaomi hasn't officially revealed all the specs yet, but it's already clear that the company is preparing an aggressively positioned flagship for mobile photography and ultra-high-resolution shooting.
