Ayaneo has provided an update on the shipping timeline for its new Windows handheld gaming devices. The company announced that the Ayaneo Next 2, first revealed back in December, will start shipping to Indiegogo backers in June, provided production stays on schedule.
According to Ayaneo, suppliers have already begun manufacturing key components for the Next 2, including the motherboard, screen, battery, and other major parts. Less critical elements are already ready. Trial production is slated for early June, with mass assembly planned for mid-month.
The first shipments are expected to go out at the end of June. However, it is no longer possible to place a new order for the Next 2. Ayaneo closed new sign-ups on March 23 and does not currently guarantee additional production runs. Interested buyers can contact support to register their desired configuration and color, but the company emphasizes that new ordering opportunities will only arise under favorable circumstances.
Ayaneo also confirmed the timeline for another Windows console, the Konkr Fit. Production is expected to start before the end of this month, meaning that if there are no delays, shipments could also begin in June. Overall, summer is shaping up to be a critical period for Ayaneo as it prepares to bring several handheld gaming devices to market.
