Rumors suggest Samsung has started early development of One UI 9.5 based on Android 17, potentially launching with Galaxy S27 series. Early leak reveals code references.
Samsung has barely begun rolling out the stable version of One UI 8.5—based on Android 16 QPR2—for its Galaxy devices, yet early mentions of the next-generation skin are already surfacing online.
Interestingly, earlier rumors pointed to One UI 9.0, but now insiders are jumping straight to One UI 9.5—a version that hasn't even appeared on Samsung's official roadmap.
The news comes from a post on X by user Erencan Yılmaz, who claims Samsung has already begun early development of One UI 9.5. According to the report, the new skin will be based on Android 17 and could launch alongside the next-generation Galaxy S27 series flagships.
As evidence, the insider shared an image containing a code snippet that allegedly references multiple generations of One UI, including version 9.5. This marks the first known mention of the upcoming update.
For now, details about One UI 9.5's features are nonexistent. It remains unclear whether Samsung is planning a major interface overhaul or intends to polish existing solutions.
Looking at Samsung's past update patterns, future versions could bring further visual refinements, more customization options, and new features tied to Galaxy AI. But for now, this is just an early leak with no official confirmation.
