Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 spotted in the wild reveals wider body and dual camera. Get the latest specs, release details, and more of the upcoming foldable.

Samsung is preparing two book-style foldable smartphones for its July presentation — the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Until now, information about the lower model came mainly from leaks and CAD renders, but now the device has supposedly been spotted in real conditions for the first time.

Blurry photos of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 surfaced on an online forum after the smartphone was allegedly seen in a restaurant in South Korea. In one shot, the device is lying on a table in a protective case, and in another, it is being held in hands. Despite the low quality of the images, the main feature of the model can be seen: a wider and shorter body compared to previous Galaxy Z Fold generations.

These proportions match early leaks, according to which Samsung is preparing a wider format for its foldable smartphone. Previously, the device was called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, but according to the latest data, the company decided to bring it to market under the simpler name Galaxy Z Fold 8. This model is expected to become a more affordable alternative to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

The photos also point to a new rear panel design with a dual camera module. Earlier reports said that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a 200-megapixel main camera with optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultrawide module, and two 10-megapixel front cameras. Meanwhile, a dedicated telephoto lens will likely remain an advantage of the higher-end Ultra version.

According to preliminary data, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, 12 GB of RAM, at least 256 GB of storage, and a battery capacity of 4800 mAh. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, in turn, may get an additional 10-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and a battery of 5000 mAh.

If the leak proves true, Samsung is indeed changing its strategy for the foldable lineup. Instead of one universal Fold, the company may offer two different models: a wider and relatively affordable Galaxy Z Fold 8 for the mass audience and a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra for those who need maximum cameras, battery, and premium features.
