Samsung Galaxy Adds Adaptive Performance Profile to Save Battery

Samsung Galaxy phones now include an Adaptive performance profile that intelligently adjusts power to extend battery life. Find out how it works and which models support it.

Leaker Ice Universe has spotted a new option in Galaxy smartphone settings. According to a post on X, the Performance Profile menu previously offered just two modes—Standard and Light—but now includes a third choice called Adaptive.

Based on Samsung's description, Adaptive is largely built on the standard performance profile but can intelligently adjust the device's power to extend battery life. In practice, the phone decides when to maintain full speed and when to dial things back to save juice.

Before this, Galaxy users had to pick between Standard and Light. The first delivered normal performance, while the second was aimed at more efficient energy use. Adaptive sits in between, sparing owners from constant manual switching and adjusting to how they use the phone.

This move aligns with a broader industry trend. Manufacturers are focusing not just on raw chip power but also on smart power management. That's crucial for modern flagships: faster processors demand solid battery life without compromising interface smoothness.

Samsung hasn't made a formal announcement about Adaptive Profile, so it's unclear which models or One UI versions support it yet. Still, Ice Universe's find suggests Samsung is fine-tuning Galaxy behavior at the settings level, where small tweaks can matter more to users than flashy but rarely used features.
