The vivo X Fold 6 was seen at the French Open with actress Zhu Zhu. Leaks reveal specs: 200MP camera, Dimensity 9500, 6900mAh battery. Launch expected in June.
The vivo X Fold 6 appears to have made its first real-world appearance before its official launch. Actress and vivo ambassador Zhu Zhu was photographed at the women's singles final of the French Open on June 7 with an unknown foldable smartphone, which Chinese insiders and social media users quickly linked to the upcoming X Fold 6.
In the photos, the device is seen in a blue-green color with a large circular camera module and a book-style form factor. This design matches renders that have been circulating on Chinese social media since April. The X Fold series has used a round camera module for several generations, and the new model seems to continue this line without a radical redesign, but with a thinner body.
Vivo has not officially confirmed that the phone in the photo is the X Fold 6, but the combination of a brand ambassador, timing, and the device's appearance makes the leak look like a carefully staged public teaser. Sending a company representative to one of the most prominent sports events with an unannounced smartphone is too perfect a way to showcase the device to the world to be a mere coincidence.
According to rumors, the vivo X Fold 6 will feature an 8.02-inch internal UTG display with 2K resolution, a 6.51-inch external AMOLED screen, a Dimensity 9500 chip, and a dual-cell 6900 mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. The camera system also looks ambitious: a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.
Vivo is placing a separate bet on software. The company has already confirmed OriginOS 6 Fold and an updated Atomic Workbench system—a workspace for multiple apps designed to reduce constant window switching. In the new version, more intelligent task organization with context awareness is expected, so the foldable screen works not just as a large display but as a productivity tool.
The vivo X Fold 6 is expected to launch in China in the second half of June, roughly the same time the X Fold 5 was released last year. The new device will compete with the OPPO Find N6 and Honor Magic V6, betting on a combination of a large battery, strong camera, and software multitasking features. If the French Open photos really show the X Fold 6, Vivo has already begun stirring interest in the device in the most visible way.
