A leak points to a 2nm flagship chip, a 7,000mAh battery and two 200MP sensors in Xiaomi's next compact flagship.

Xiaomi 18 Pro could become one of the first smartphones powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Qualcomm is expected to unveil its next flagship chipset generation at Snapdragon Summit on September 24, 2026, followed by a fresh wave of premium Android phones. According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is preparing a major hardware upgrade that could also explain a higher price.

The engineering prototype is said to use a 2nm flagship processor, a sharp flat display and two 200MP cameras. The main module reportedly has an especially large sensor, while the second 200MP unit would handle telephoto and macro shots. If confirmed, that would be a major step up from the Xiaomi 17 Pro and its three 50MP cameras.

Another notable upgrade could be a roughly 7,000mAh battery. That is unusually large for a compact flagship, especially compared with the 6,300mAh cell in the Xiaomi 17 Pro. A 100W wired charging system and wireless charging are also expected. The leak also mentions a stronger vibration motor, stereo speakers and smaller hardware refinements.

The Xiaomi 18 lineup is currently expected to include at least four models: Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and Xiaomi 18 Ultra. If Xiaomi follows the strategy used for the Xiaomi 17 family, the standard model and Ultra may launch globally, while the Pro and Pro Max could remain exclusive to China.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is also rumored to retain the secondary AMOLED display on the rear. On the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, it is used for notifications, as a camera viewfinder and for quick actions. Pricing has not been revealed, but given the expected hardware, the phone is unlikely to be cheap.
