Redmi K100 launch order may change as Pro models move to the front

Early certification records point to a possible change in Xiaomi’s launch plan, with Pro models arriving first.

Redmi may be preparing to change the launch strategy for the K100 series, according to new rumors. The standard Redmi K100 was previously expected to debut first, followed later by the more expensive Redmi K100 Pro Max. Digital Chat Station now claims the opposite: the K100 Pro models could arrive first, while the base K100 may be delayed.

The main argument behind this theory is the absence of the standard Redmi K100 from early certification databases. According to the source, documents for the regular model have not appeared yet. That could point either to a revised schedule or to a broader change in product strategy. Meanwhile, two new Redmi smartphones have already passed China’s 3C and MIIT certification.

Devices with model numbers M098FF and M511CD have appeared in the 3C database. Both support charging at up to 100 W with the MDY-18-EW adapter. Their exact identities remain unconfirmed, but if Digital Chat Station is correct, neither model number belongs to the base Redmi K100. One of the certified devices could be the Redmi K100 Pro Max.

Preliminary reports suggest the series will retain two different form factors. The Redmi K100 is said to feature a relatively compact 6.59-inch display, while the K100 Pro Max may use a larger 6.9-inch panel with a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz. Snapdragon 8-series chips, batteries of up to 9000 mAh and a new version of HyperOS out of the box are also mentioned.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max is also rumored to feature symmetrical dual speakers aimed at gaming and media. If the Pro lineup really launches first, Xiaomi may open the new generation with its more expensive and eye-catching models, leaving the regular Redmi K100 for a later release.
