Xiaomi 17 Ultra Satellite gains Chinese certification: Tiantong-1/Beidou calls, UWB, 6.85-inch 2K LTPO OLED, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, powerful camera, Q1 2026 launch

Xiaomi is preparing to unveil an upgraded take on its upcoming flagship—the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with satellite connectivity. The new model has received radio communication certification in China under number 25128PNA1C, a sign that approvals are complete and a debut is close.

Unlike the standard edition, the Ultra Satellite version supports Tiantong-1 and Beidou links, enabling calls and messages even where cellular networks don’t reach. The phone will also include a UWB (ultra-wideband) module for seamless connections with other devices in the Xiaomi ecosystem.

Rumors point to an ambitious camera setup: a 50-megapixel 1-inch Omnivision OV50X, two Samsung JN5 modules (ultrawide and telephoto), and a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP5 periscope. Taken together, it could rank among the most powerful mobile imaging systems of 2026.

Up front, an LTPO OLED display measuring 6.85 inches with 2K resolution is expected, framed by exceptionally thin bezels—slimmer than on the iPhone. Under the hood, the package is said to include the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, fast charging support, IP-rated water resistance, and a high-capacity battery.

The satellite version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra could premiere in the first quarter of 2026, and, according to rumors, the company may unveil its first NAS (network-attached storage) device alongside it.
