Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: Samsung's most advanced foldable arrives

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, its first foldable smartphone to carry the Ultra name. The device debuted at Galaxy Unpacked in London alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 and other products. It is positioned as Samsung's most advanced and feature-packed foldable of 2026.

The phone features a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X foldable display. Both panels support a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the inner screen reaches up to 3,000 nits of brightness. A new Flex Titanium structure is designed to make the center crease less noticeable.

Performance comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, paired with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM. Storage options include 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. The phone runs One UI 9 and adds upgraded Galaxy AI features, including deeper app integration and Gemini-powered automation tools.

The rear camera system combines a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Samsung also added full-resolution HDR capture, improved night photography and the new APV codec for 8K video recording.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and supports 45 W wired charging and 20 W wireless charging. When folded, the body is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 215 grams. Pre-orders are open from $2,099.99 or €2,199, with graphite, cream, violet and an exclusive green finish available.
