Leaks point to Dimensity 9600s, 9600 Pro and 9600 Pro Max, with 3 nm and 2 nm TSMC processes and a possible autumn 2026 debut.
MediaTek may release its flagship Dimensity 9600 lineup in three versions. According to Chinese tipster Smart Chip Insider, the family could include the Dimensity 9600s, Dimensity 9600 Pro and Dimensity 9600 Pro Max. The company itself has not yet confirmed the names, specifications or launch date of the new processors.
The entry-level Dimensity 9600s is said to be a renamed or revised version of the Dimensity 9500, produced on TSMC's 3 nm N3P process. In performance, this model could trail the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, which is rumored to move to a more advanced 2 nm process.
Dimensity 9600 Pro and Pro Max are reportedly set to use the same die manufactured on TSMC's 2 nm N2P process. The two versions may differ in clock speeds, compute-unit configuration or permitted power draw, but no architectural details are available yet.
The first smartphones with the new chips may come from the Vivo X500 series. The Dimensity 9600 family has also been linked to the upcoming OPPO Find X10 lineup: the base model is tipped to use the 9600s, while the Find X10 Pro and Pro Max could receive the faster Pro and Pro Max versions.
The processors are expected to be announced in autumn 2026, possibly shortly before the next Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit. Reports also point to a noticeable price increase for Dimensity 9600 compared with the previous generation. There is still no confirmed chip pricing, so it is too early to judge the possible impact on smartphone prices.
