The update is rolling out to eligible Pixel devices, but Google has not yet published a changelog for the second beta.
Google has released the second beta of the quarterly Android 17 QPR2 update. The new build arrived shortly after Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8, but the company has not yet said what changed compared with QPR2 Beta 1. Members of the Android Beta Program can install Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2 over the air. The update is available for the Pixel 7, Pixel 8, Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 families, including Pro, Pro XL and Fold models as well as A-series versions. Pixel 6a, Pixel Tablet and the original Pixel Fold are also supported. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro no longer support the QPR2 branch.
Because the Beta 2 changelog has not been published, it is still unclear which bugs Google fixed. The previous build addressed Bluetooth re-pairing issues, unexpected device restarts when launching Gemini and notifications disappearing from the panel. Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 also fixed media controls briefly appearing on the lock screen, problems with multi-finger drag gestures and incorrect window-interface blur behavior.
Quarterly QPR updates arrive between major Android releases. They roll out to owners of compatible Pixel devices, while system images are also published for developers. Testing Beta 2 only requires enrolling an eligible device in the Android Beta Program.
