GTA VI returns with an extended showcase: Netflix gets it first on August 27

Rockstar Games has confirmed that an extended Grand Theft Auto VI presentation will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026. It will be the game's first major video showcase in more than a year since the second official trailer. Rockstar is also using an unusual release strategy: the material will debut exclusively on Netflix, with the same video arriving later on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the studio's website.

The first GTA VI trailer arrived in December 2023 and confirmed the series' return to Vice City. Rockstar also introduced protagonists Lucia and Jason, while the game's setting expanded to the fictional state of Leonida. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions were originally planned for 2025. In May 2025, Rockstar moved the release to May 26, 2026, and published the second trailer a few days later. At the same time, the official website added 70 screenshots, character descriptions and more details about locations. In November 2025, the release date changed again, this time to November 19, 2026. The studio said the extra delay was needed to finish development and reach the expected quality level, but it did not show a new trailer or a full gameplay demonstration at the time.

The upcoming presentation will mark the next major step in the marketing campaign that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick previously said would begin in summer 2026. An exclusive Netflix premiere is a clear departure from Rockstar's previous GTA VI trailer releases.
