Latest Samsung Galaxy S26 leaks: Edge dropped, Plus returns, no Pro rename. Repeat cameras, Exynos in some regions, 4,300 mAh battery, slimmer pill design.

In recent weeks, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup has been awash with conflicting whispers. Early reports claimed the company would rename the standard model to Galaxy S26 Pro and launch it alongside the Galaxy S26 Edge and Ultra.

Multiple sources now point in a different direction. Samsung has dropped the Edge line altogether, bringing back the familiar Galaxy S26+ instead. Insiders also indicate the base model won’t carry a Pro suffix; the company is keeping its established naming — a move that should keep the lineup easy to read.

Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Edge reportedly came close to the final development stage. That leaves the door open for Samsung to release it later as a standalone device, just not as part of the main trio.

On the specifications side, clues found in One UI 8.5 firmware for the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggest the Galaxy S26 will repeat its predecessor’s camera setup: a 50MP main, a 10MP telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide. In several regions, the base S26 and S26+ will again use Exynos processors, unlike the S25 series, which was almost entirely powered by Snapdragon.

Another tweak appears to be coming to the battery: according to SamMobile, the Galaxy S26 will get a 4,300 mAh cell, slightly larger than last year’s pack. The design is in for a subtle refresh as well: the camera array adopts a new ‘pill’ shape with three sensors, while the chassis reportedly thins to 6.96 mm despite the bigger battery — a neat bit of optimization.

In short, the Galaxy S26 Pro chatter seems to have been about the standard model, and the lineup will stick with the familiar split: base, Plus, and Ultra.
