Meet the Boox Palma 2 Pro: a 6.13-inch color E Ink e-reader with 5G, Android 15, InkSense Plus stylus support, 8GB RAM, microSD, dual SIM, and 3,950 mAh battery.
Boox has introduced the Palma 2 Pro, a new e-reader that borrows the look of a smartphone while relying on an E Ink display. It’s the first model in the Palma line to add 5G network support and compatibility with the InkSense Plus stylus.
The Boox Palma 2 Pro features a 6.13-inch Kaleido 3 ePaper screen capable of showing up to 4,096 colors. Resolution comes in at 824×1,648 pixels in monochrome and 412×824 pixels in color. The glass-covered panel includes an adjustable front light and is designed for low power draw, making it a sensible pick for reading color magazines, comics, and documents.
Support for the InkSense Plus stylus, sold separately, means the device isn’t just for reading: you can jot down notes, annotate documents, and highlight passages in different colors—an option many Boox users had been waiting for.
Inside, there’s an octa-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage, expandable up to 2 TB via microSD. The device also includes a fingerprint scanner, page-turn buttons, a 16 MP rear camera with flash, and a water-resistant body.
The headline addition is 5G and dual SIM support, placing the Palma 2 Pro among the few E Ink readers with mobile connectivity. It doesn’t handle voice calls, but it does let you get online on the go without Wi‑Fi—exactly the kind of freedom many readers appreciate.
The device runs Android 15 with Google Play preinstalled, allowing installation of third-party apps. A 3,950 mAh battery provides power, and charging is handled via USB‑C.
The Boox Palma 2 Pro is available for preorder at $399.99, with sales set to begin on November 7. A magnetic case is included in the box, while the InkSense Plus stylus is sold separately for $45.99.
