Researchers report a massive Discord data breach: 1.8B messages, 207M voice recordings, data from 35M accounts. Learn the risks and how to protect your privacy.
A new trove of leaked data has surfaced on underground forums: hackers say they are selling information stolen from Discord users. The stash reportedly contains about 1.8 billion text messages, nearly 207 million voice recordings, and data linked to roughly 35 million accounts. The sheer scale is hard to ignore.
According to researchers at CyberNews, the breach spans information from more than 6,000 servers—both public and private. The haul includes chats, voice sessions, personal profiles, and community data. The sellers are offering full access to the archive for an undisclosed price.
This isn’t the first time Discord has faced a hit of this kind. A year ago, the platform shut down the Spy.Pet spyware operation, which harvested user data and resold it on the black market. At the time, the company warned it would take the operators to court.
There has been no official response from Discord so far, but specialists are flagging serious risks: the stolen information could be used for identity theft, phishing, and targeted attacks. For now, users would be wise to review their privacy settings and avoid suspicious links until security updates are released. The lack of immediate clarity rarely calms nerves, especially when community spaces are involved.
