Full specs of Nubia Z80 Ultra: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 6.85-inch 144 Hz OLED, 7200 mAh with 90W/80W charging, pro 50 MP cameras, prices and global release.

Nubia has officially introduced the Z80 Ultra — a new flagship that leans into raw power, long battery life, and serious photography. It pairs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and as much as 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Design and display

On the outside, the Z80 Ultra keeps its clean lines and distinctive camera module, while bringing improved ergonomics and a sturdier build. The phone is 8.6 mm thick, weighs 227 g, and carries IP68 and IP69 protection against dust and water.

The front is dominated by a 6.85-inch BOE X10 OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color, and peak brightness up to 2000 nits. DC dimming is supported to make viewing gentler on the eyes. The fingerprint reader is integrated under the display.

Performance

The Z80 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 — Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile processor — promising gains in both performance and efficiency. It ships with Android 16 and the Nebula AIOS 2 interface, which adds AI-driven features. On paper, the setup looks brisk and well balanced.

A 7200 mAh battery keeps everything running, with 90 W wired charging, 80 W wireless charging, and support for reverse charging. Extras include Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, stereo speakers, and a USB Type‑C 3.2 Gen 1 port. The emphasis on endurance here feels deliberate.

Cameras

The headline upgrade is a new 50 MP OmniVision LightMaster 990 main camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor and optical stabilization. It’s joined by a 50 MP ultrawide unit (1/1.55-inch, 120° field of view) and a 64 MP periscope telephoto with macro shooting support and OIS. This trio should comfortably cover most shooting scenarios.

For mobile photography enthusiasts, Nubia offers a professional kit with a titanium body, mechanical controls, a T-mount, and an adapter for 67 mm filters — effectively turning the phone into a pocketable camera.

Pricing

In China, the Nubia Z80 Ultra is available in several configurations: 12+512 GB for 4,999 yuan (~$702); 16+512 GB for 5,299 yuan (~$744); 16 GB + 1 TB for 5,699 yuan (~$800); Starry Night Edition — 5,599 yuan (~$786); and Limited Luo Tianyi Edition — 5,799–5,999 yuan (~$814–842).

Sales have already started in China, with an international release expected in the coming months.
