Google Pixel 10 owners report an Android Auto bug: screens freeze on the logo or go black, while audio still works. Experts expect a software fix from Google.

Google Pixel 10 smartphones are only just reaching customers, and early owners are already reporting problems with Android Auto. The main complaint is that when the phone connects to a car’s infotainment system, the screen freezes on the Android Auto logo and stays black.

Notably, audio keeps working: music plays, calls go through, and the voice assistant responds. The interface, however, either never loads or shows up after long delays and runs so slowly that it is practically unusable.

Reports are coming from drivers of different cars, from Chevrolet and Nissan to newer Audi models. Owners have tried every standard fix—clearing cache, reinstalling the app, swapping cables, even resetting the head unit—but none of it helped. Taken together, the breadth of affected vehicles and the fact that audio subsystems still function point more to software than to cabling or head-unit quirks.

Some users say Android Auto remains stable only when using third-party wireless dongles. Experts believe this is a Google-side software glitch that an update should resolve. For now, though, the bug dulls the first impressions of the new flagship.
