RedMagic’s animated ad trolls bulky camera bumps—hinting at iPhone 17 Pro—while showcasing flush-back design and sample shots from the RedMagic 11 Pro+.
Gaming brand RedMagic is back in the spotlight — this time not for performance records, but for a bold ad campaign. Just days after unveiling its new smartphone in China, the company released a short animated clip that pokes fun at today’s flagship designs.
In the video, a tiny road roller glides over asphalt and literally flattens oversized, protruding camera modules — a clear nod to the massive block on the iPhone 17 Pro. The message comes through without spelling it out: instead of sticking out, components should be seamlessly integrated. RedMagic stresses that its phones place the camera flush with the back panel, creating a perfectly flat surface. It looks cleaner and, importantly, stops the phone from wobbling on a desk.
The company also shared several sample photos taken on the RedMagic 11 Pro+, aiming to show that a flat module doesn’t equal a weak camera. The images feature rich colors, low noise, and balanced contrast — the result, the brand says, of new sensors and updated image-processing algorithms. Judging by the samples, the bet on clean lines didn’t come at the cost of image quality.
This isn’t the first time RedMagic has ribbed Apple. Previously, the brand called out iPhones for running hot during gaming, and now it’s shifted the focus to design. With the global launch of the RedMagic 11 Pro+ slated for November 3, the viral clip lands right on cue: online chatter is doing much of the promotional heavy lifting. One thing is hard to argue with — RedMagic knows how to turn a light jab into powerful publicity.
