Leaked details on the HMD Fusion 2 reveal a 120 Hz FHD+ display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 108 MP + 8 MP cameras, IP65, and Smart Outfits Gen 2 modular add-ons.
HMD is gearing up to launch the second generation of its modular smartphone, the HMD Fusion 2, and fresh leaks point to meaningful upgrades in the display, performance, and add-on ecosystem.
According to insider HMD Meme, the Fusion 2 will feature a 6.58-inch Full HD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate — a clear upgrade over the original model’s 6.56-inch HD+ panel at 90 Hz. Inside, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 replaces the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, which should deliver better power and efficiency.
The camera stack sees a few, but well-judged, tweaks. The 108 MP main sensor remains, while the 2 MP auxiliary module gives way to an 8 MP ultrawide lens, expanding shooting options in a way that actually matters day to day. The phone is also said to offer IP65 protection, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack — a rarity in 2025.
The headline feature of the series, the swappable Smart Outfits system, stays. Like its predecessor, the HMD Fusion 2 will keep magnetic contacts on the back for attaching accessories that extend the device’s capabilities. The company is reportedly readying a new generation of these modules: Smart Outfits Gen 2, including add-ons for wireless charging, gaming, capture, audio playback, a mini projector, a case for active use, and designer options with lighting.
There’s no official release date yet, but judging by HMD’s current pace, the Fusion 2 could be announced in the coming weeks.
