Unity China partners with Leapmotor to co-develop 3D smart car cabins using URAS and App View, bringing game-grade visuals, apps, and an enhanced in-car UX.
Unity China has formally announced a strategic partnership with automaker Leapmotor. Signed on October 24, the agreement focuses on co-developing an innovative interaction system for next-generation smart car cabins, a telling sign of how rapidly gaming-grade visuals are shaping in-car experiences.
According to Unity China, many Leapmotor models already use a 3D interface built on the Unity engine, including the popular C10 and C16. In the first nine months of 2025, the company delivered more than 396,000 vehicles, reinforcing its standing as a frontrunner among Chinese EV startups.
As part of the collaboration, Unity introduced URAS (Unity Render As Service)—a system that unifies all graphics workflows into a single high-efficiency rendering platform. It enables 3D content to appear anywhere in the interface without performance loss, while easing the load on the CPU and memory. The result is a flexible, visually rich, and highly customizable interface for future in-vehicle systems.
Complementing URAS is the App View system, which allows Android apps to be displayed simultaneously right inside the 3D scene—be it navigation, media, or climate controls—so interactions feel more natural and intuitive. In addition, the dedicated HMIRP graphics system will support realistic effects such as time-of-day shifts, weather conditions, and material reflections, pushing automotive UI fidelity closer to modern video-game standards.
Taken together, the Unity China–Leapmotor partnership aims to raise the bar for automotive interfaces by blending game-development know-how with car engineering to create immersive, visually rich, and intelligent digital cabins.
