Discover Sidephone's Sundial Keyboard for the SP-01: a modular magnetic music keypad with 9 customizable buttons and iPod-style controls. Launches 2026 for $29.

Sidephone has unveiled a new modular add-on for its SP-01 phone: the Sundial Keyboard. This compact circular keypad carries nine customizable buttons and visually turns the handset into something that recalls the Apple iPod Nano.

Designed squarely for music control, the accessory is shaped like a round remote, nodding to the iPod’s Click Wheel. A play/pause button sits at the center, while the surrounding ring provides four directional inputs for skipping tracks and adjusting volume.

There are also four additional buttons at the corners that users can assign to tasks such as calls, messages, the camera, or the alarm. It’s a simple layout that prioritizes muscle memory over swipes and taps.

The Sundial Keyboard attaches via a magnetic connector at the bottom edge of the phone, which makes swapping accessories quick and effortless. To personalize the look, Sidephone offers eight colorful silicone covers that can be mixed and matched.

Sales start in January 2026. The first batch will include 1,000 units, and Sidephone noted that if demand is high, it will expand production and add a silver-and-black version. The keyboard is priced at $29, while the silicone cover will be sold separately for $10.

The concept feels like a playful return to tactile controls: physical keys for core media actions without complicating the phone itself.
