Samsung's Exynos 2600 hits record Geekbench scores, edging Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Rumors suggest two chip tiers for Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra.

Samsung’s Exynos 2600 has resurfaced in the Geekbench database, this time delivering its strongest performance yet. In the latest run, the chip posted 3,455 points in single-core and 11,621 in multi-core, comfortably ahead of August’s 3,309 and 11,256.

The CPU configuration remains unchanged: one Cortex-X930 at 3.8 GHz, three Cortex-A730 at 3.26 GHz, and six power-efficient Cortex-A730S at 2.76 GHz. The steady gains suggest Samsung is fine-tuning the silicon, improving efficiency and thermal behavior. For context, the Xiaomi 17 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 scored 3,078 and 9,162, positioning the new Exynos as a potential front-runner in raw performance.

Interestingly, Geekbench also listed another Exynos 2600 variant with lower clocks: 3.55 GHz for the prime core, 2.96 GHz for the performance cores, and 2.46 GHz for the efficiency cluster. Its results were lower as well—3,047 and 10,025. According to SammyGuru, this may point to plans for two tiers of the processor: a higher-powered version for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and a streamlined one for the S26 and S26+.

For now, that remains unconfirmed, but one thing stands out: Samsung is putting serious effort into the Exynos 2600. If the trajectory holds, the chip could, for the first time in a while, offer a genuine challenge to Qualcomm’s flagship solutions. On paper, the momentum looks encouraging.
