Apple expands Self Service Repair to the iPhone 17 lineup, letting users order genuine parts and use official guides in the US, UK, Canada and EU for DIY fixes.
Apple has expanded its Self Service Repair program, first launched in the United States in April 2022. Owners of the iPhone 17 lineup can now order genuine parts and handle repairs on their own devices.
Through the official Apple Self Service Repair portal, customers can buy components—ranging from cameras and batteries to speakers, glass, and other parts—and download official repair guides. The program is available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and a number of European Union countries.
Apple stresses that repairs should be attempted only by people with sufficient technical skills, since even with step-by-step manuals the process can be demanding and requires care.
With this expansion, the company continues to support a model that makes device maintenance more accessible and environmentally minded, giving users the option to extend the lifespan of their iPhones without turning to a service center. It reads as a measured move that puts more control in the hands of confident tinkerers and helps keep working devices in circulation longer.
