Discover HEDDphone D1 open-back reference headphones for professional monitoring: TPCD diaphragms, 5 Hz–40 kHz, $799/€699, 5‑year warranty, wide soundstage.

Germany’s HEDD (Heinz Electrodynamic Design) has introduced the HEDDphone D1, a new pair of open reference headphones designed for professional monitoring and studio work. Hand-built in Berlin, the model uses thin-ply carbon diaphragms (TPCD) created in collaboration with Composite Sound.

According to the manufacturer, these diaphragms offer greater stiffness than conventional materials, delivering precise attack and an extended frequency range from 5 Hz to 40 kHz. The headphones have a 32-ohm impedance, and their maximum sound pressure level reaches 100 dB at 1 mW. On paper, the spec sheet points to a clear focus on transient precision and wide bandwidth.

The open-back acoustic design creates a spacious, natural soundstage, while perforated velour earpads help keep long sessions comfortable. The package includes two Y-cables with 3.5 mm (mono) connectors, a 6.35 mm adapter, and a branded case for storage and transport.

The newcomer weighs 350 grams and comes with a five-year warranty, a reassuring touch. HEDDphone D1 are already available from official distributors at $799 / €699.
