As graphics card refreshes grow rarer, enthusiasts are finding unexpected ways to put the hardware to use. One Reddit user, who goes by ashleysaidwhat, decided to repurpose the cooling system from an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 as—of all things—a skateboard.

Photos and video make it clear this isn’t a complete graphics card but a hefty triple-fan cooler with no PCB—no chip, memory, or other components. Judging by the setup, the part either came from an older card after a switch to liquid cooling or from one of the many heatsinks sold in bulk when mining or AI systems are dismantled.

Such transformations aren’t new: tinkerers often turn coolers into decor, art pieces, or even tiny PCs. Still, putting an ASUS ROG cooler to work as a rideable deck comes across as one of the more imaginative twists in PC modding. It was jokingly noted that the Redditor is now cruising through the Republic of Gamers—a nod to ASUS ROG’s branding.
