Punkt. ने pre-order अवधि के बाद MC03 smartphone की शिपिंग शुरू कर दी है। डिवाइस को “sovereign smartphone” के रूप में पेश किया गया है: इसे Switzerland में विकसित किया गया, Germany में बनाया जाता है और यह open-source Android 15 आधारित AphyOS पर चलता है। मॉडल Punkt. की वेबसाइट पर सिर्फ black रंग में €745, यानी लगभग $870 में उपलब्ध है।
स्पेसिफिकेशन के हिसाब से Punkt. MC03 इस कीमत पर बहुत मजबूत डील नहीं लगता। फोन में 1080x2436 पिक्सल रिजॉल्यूशन और 120 Hz refresh rate वाला 6.67-inch OLED display, under-display fingerprint scanner, MediaTek Dimensity 7300, 8 GB RAM और 256 GB expandable storage है। इसके साथ stereo speakers, dual SIM, eSIM और IP68 protection भी मिलती है।
कैमरे भी ज्यादा flagship-grade नहीं, बल्कि practical हैं: autofocus वाला 64 MP main module, लेकिन optical stabilization नहीं, fixed focus वाला 8 MP ultra-wide camera, 2 MP macro और 32 MP front camera, जिसमें भी autofocus नहीं है। 5200 mAh battery removable है, और फोन 30 W wired तथा 15 W wireless charging support करता है।
मुख्य दांव hardware पर नहीं, बल्कि privacy और data control पर है। Punkt. user information की tracking, profiling या monetization नहीं करने का वादा करता है, और AphyOS features के लिए mandatory subscription भी नहीं बताता। System में mail, messages, calendar और 5 GB cloud storage built-in हैं, Threema पहले से installed है, और Data Ledger tool दिखाता है कि apps data और permissions का इस्तेमाल कैसे करती हैं।
कंपनी तीन साल के functional updates और पांच साल के security patches का वादा करती है। जिन्हें अतिरिक्त privacy services चाहिए, वे Proton products अलग से जोड़ सकते हैं, हालांकि उनमें से कुछ के लिए paid subscription चाहिए हो सकता है। कुल मिलाकर Punkt.
