A new battery endurance test has put the OnePlus 15 at the top, outlasting the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
TechDroider ran a 13-hour real-world trial of the three flagships: three hours of PUBG Mobile, three hours of YouTube playback, an hour and a half of web browsing, and then continuous 4K 60 fps video recording until the battery fully discharged.
The results were as follows: Xiaomi 17 Pro Max — 12 hours 50 minutes; iPhone 17 Pro Max — 13 hours 02 minutes; OnePlus 15 — 13 hours 40 minutes. In other words, the OnePlus held on for almost 40 minutes longer than the iPhone.
Interestingly, despite the iPhone’s smaller 4,832 mAh battery, it managed a strong showing against rivals with far larger cells — 7,300 mAh in the OnePlus and 7,500 mAh in the Xiaomi. Much of that comes down to the power efficiency of iOS and the A19 Pro chip.
Even so, the OnePlus 15 takes the win. Its mix of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a silicon-carbon battery, and ColorOS optimizations delivered the best balance of performance and energy efficiency.
There’s another angle: despite its smaller battery, the iPhone 17 Pro Max isn’t the thinnest or lightest of the trio. The OnePlus 15 measures 8.1 mm and 215 g; the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, 8 mm and 219 g; the iPhone 17 Pro Max, 8.8 mm and 233 g.
The iPhone also charges more slowly and uses a less efficient cooling system. So unless iOS is the deciding factor, the OnePlus 15 reads as the more balanced choice for battery life, performance, and day-to-day comfort.
