Insider Instant Digital reports that the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max could become Apple’s heaviest flagship to date. It is expected to weigh over 240 grams, outstripping the current iPhone 17 Pro Max at 233 grams and previous generations.
Leaks also point to a thicker body—around 9 mm compared to 8.8 mm on the current model—linked to an updated under-display Face ID system, a reworked camera, and changes to the battery. If accurate, the extra grams and added depth suggest Apple is prioritizing capability over chasing the thinnest possible profile.
Apple is said to be refining the flagship’s look as well: the aluminum frame and the rear glass may adopt a single, unified shade, moving away from the contrasting finish seen on the iPhone 17 Pro. That shift would make the handset read visually as a more seamless piece.
The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to launch in September 2026 alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone, while the standard iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18e could arrive later, in early 2027.
