Nubia V80 Design launches globally at $140 with 120Hz screen, 50 MP camera, 5,000 mAh battery

Nubia has officially launched its new budget smartphone, the V80 Design, on the global market. The handset offers a 6.75-inch LCD with a 120 Hz refresh rate, runs on the Unisoc T7280 chip, carries a triple rear camera with a 50 MP main sensor, and packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 22.5 W charging. The pitch is straightforward: a smooth screen, dependable stamina, and a competent camera at a price that undercuts many rivals.

The device ships with Android 16 and comes with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, with no microSD card support. It also includes 10 W reverse charging, NFC, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader, while the body is rated IP64. The combination reads practical rather than flashy, and that seems deliberate.

Among the smart features are AI-powered tools such as real-time translation, fraud detection, automatic text composition, image editing, wallpaper creation, and smart replies. All of this is accessible via a dedicated AI button, a small touch that suggests the company wants these capabilities to be part of daily use rather than buried in menus.

Nubia V80 Design comes in four colors: black, pale amber, peach, and blue. Pricing starts at $140 for the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage version, with sales already underway on ZTE’s official website. At this price, the spec sheet positions the V80 Design as a value-focused choice for buyers who prioritize a fast display and long battery life without unnecessary extras.
