Huawei is gearing up for a major launch in China on November 25. Alongside the Mate 80 smartphone lineup and the foldable Mate X7, the company plans to unveil a new device called the MatePad Edge. It’s pitched as a premium 2‑in‑1 tablet‑laptop, with early details already surfacing from insiders.
According to a leak from Digital Chat Station, the device is set to feature a 14.2‑inch OLED display, a Kirin 9xxx‑series chipset, keyboard and stylus support, HarmonyOS on board, and two colorways: Lunar Silver and Space Gray.
Meanwhile, another source, UncleShan, says it’s an enhanced take on the MateBook E, now running entirely on HarmonyOS. The device is expected to feature a dual‑fan cooling system and blend tablet convenience with PC capabilities. Taken together, the package reads like a proper flagship 2‑in‑1, and pricing is expected to reflect that.
Leaked specifications also mention two memory configurations: 16 GB/512 GB and 24 GB/1 TB. A matte‑screen option is said to be in the works as well—unusual for this category.
