Apple is preparing the next generation of its budget iPad, and according to recent leaks, the device will see a notable boost in performance. The 12th-generation model, expected to launch in spring 2026, is rumored to feature the A18 chip — the same processor used in the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, and 16e. This upgrade would enable support for Apple Intelligence features, which also means an increase in RAM.
While the current entry-level iPad comes with 6 GB of RAM, Apple Intelligence requires at least 8 GB. Sources indicate that the new model will meet this requirement, bringing it closer in capabilities to higher-end devices and unlocking features previously reserved for flagship models.
Visually, the tablet is expected to retain the design of its predecessor but deliver better performance and expanded functionality.
