WhatsApp has begun testing multi-account support inside the same app for iPhone users, rolling out the option in the latest iOS beta via TestFlight. A new "Account List" section has appeared in Settings, letting users add a second profile without installing WhatsApp Business or resorting to workarounds.
At this stage, the beta allows up to two accounts. They can be brand-new numbers, existing WhatsApp Business accounts, profiles brought over from other devices, or accounts linked by scanning a QR code. Each account keeps its own chat history, backup preferences, notification rules, and privacy settings.
Switching between profiles is intentionally simple: open the Account List, press and hold the Settings tab, or double-tap Settings to jump to the next account. Small touches like this matter in everyday use, especially when splitting personal conversations from work.
Notifications also show not only the sender’s name but which account the message landed in, reducing mix-ups. The feature works with app lock as well: accessing protected accounts requires Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode.
WhatsApp hasn’t announced a public release date yet, but the active testing suggests the feature could arrive soon.
