Xiaomi POCO F8 Pro unveiled: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 100 W charging, brighter display and upgraded cameras

Xiaomi has unveiled the POCO F8 Pro — a powerful yet comparatively affordable flagship. The model replaces last year’s POCO F7 Pro, launched less than a year ago, and brings substantial upgrades across almost every key spec.

The headline change is the move to the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite, promising flagship-grade performance at a far lower price than many current high-end rivals. There’s also a bigger 6,210 mAh battery with 100 W charging, which is 10 W faster than before. Taken together, the shift points to a device built for sustained speed and longer stints away from the outlet without inflating the budget.

The display has been trimmed to 6.59 inches, while peak brightness climbs to an impressive 3,500 nits, with the familiar 120 Hz refresh rate intact. The phone also steps up to LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, Wi‑Fi 7, and Xiaomi’s LiquidCool thermal system, all packed into an 8 mm chassis weighing 199 grams. The spec mix suggests a focus on responsiveness and stability, not just raw numbers.

The cameras see meaningful upgrades as well: a 50 MP main shooter on a Light Fusion 800 sensor (1/1.55”, f/1.8, OIS), a new 50 MP telephoto with a 60 mm focal length, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 20 MP front camera. This array makes the system more versatile than on the F7 Pro, and the dedicated tele lens in particular should lend itself well to portraits and tighter framing.

Pricing starts at $579 for the 12/256 GB version, while the 512 GB configuration is $629. For the silicon and charging alone, that entry tag looks confidently aggressive.
