Xiaomi and OnePlus lead the push to 10,000 mAh smartphones

Phones with 10,000 mAh batteries are no longer far-fetched. According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, several major manufacturers are preparing smartphones with ultra-large batteries, and Xiaomi and OnePlus are among the first in line. Crucially, this isn’t about bulky bricks but about slim, everyday models where new battery tech makes room for roughly twice the energy of today’s flagships.

The force behind this jump is silicon-carbon battery technology. It enables huge capacities without adding thickness to the device. If 5,000 mAh remains the benchmark in top-tier phones today, the next wave aims to double it. In practical terms, that suggests moving from nightly charging to topping up once every two or three days.

The insider says Xiaomi is working on a phone with a roughly 10,000 mAh battery and support for 100 W charging. That mix would recharge such a large cell in under an hour—by current standards, a near-unbelievable pace. OnePlus is reportedly developing a similar model with about 9,900–10,000 mAh. Realme and Honor are also exploring the technology and could unveil their own versions soon.

If the rumors bear out, Android flagships could reach a new echelon of battery life. At last, users may get what they’ve been asking for: not another spike in processing power or camera tricks, but a genuine fix for the daily chore of constant charging.

Silicon-carbon batteries paired with ultra-fast charging look set to reshape the market—and, just as importantly, to reset expectations for what a modern smartphone should be.
