Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold — its first device with a triple-folding display after months of speculation. It arrives as the brand’s thinnest and largest foldable smartphone, blending tablet-level canvas with phone-sized portability thanks to its unconventional form factor and refreshed software. The approach reads as a deliberate push to make foldables feel more practical day to day.
Unfolded, the Galaxy Z TriFold becomes a 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1600 nits. For everyday use, there’s an external 6.5-inch FHD+ screen protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. Each display houses a 10 MP front-facing camera.
The device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset paired with 16 GB of RAM and either 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. The rear camera system features a 200 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. A 5600 mAh battery is split into three sections and supports 45 W wired charging and 15 W wireless charging. On paper, it’s a spec sheet with clear flagship intent.
Out of the box, the phone ships with Android 16 and One UI 8, and it’s the first Samsung model with standalone Samsung DeX — a full desktop interface that now toggles directly from the quick settings panel. The expansive screen can run three apps at once, while new dual titanium hinges aim for smooth, reliable folding. Thickness is just 3.9 mm when open, and the weight comes in at 309 grams. The device is rated IP48 and supports Wi‑Fi 7 and 5G. Together, the hardware and software point to a machine built for multitasking.
The Galaxy Z TriFold launches in South Korea on December 12 for $2500. It will arrive in China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE by the end of the year, and go on sale in the United States in the first quarter of 2026. For now, it’s available only in black — a price and palette that firmly place it in the ultra-premium camp.
