ANBERNIC RG 477V unveiled: vertical retro handheld with 120 Hz display and Dimensity 8300

ANBERNIC keeps widening its retro handheld lineup, and the new RG 477V looks set to be the brand’s most compelling device in a while. The company has officially showcased the vertical portable in a YouTube video, confirming its design and the core features.

The handheld uses a 4.7-inch IPS display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 120 Hz refresh rate—the same panel found in the RG Slide and RG 477M—but now rotated into a vertical format with noticeably slimmer bezels. Rumors point to a powerful Dimensity 8300 inside, a chip that has already shown it can handle emulation up to PlayStation 2 and even lighter Nintendo Switch projects. Improved Mali drivers only build on that potential, suggesting the hardware won’t be the bottleneck.

RG 477V brings a full control suite: two mini sticks, a D-pad, and four additional buttons on the back. With the sticks placed symmetrically, the layout feels particularly friendly for retro titles where the D-pad does the heavy lifting.

Renders show two colorways—black and a classic gray. The front face is fully glass, lending the device a more premium look. Earlier leaks also indicated a 5300 mAh battery and two memory options: 8/128 GB and 12/256 GB.
