Nubia Fold: 8-inch book-style foldable with Snapdragon 8 Elite and 6560 mAh battery

Nubia has taken a serious step into the premium foldable space, unveiling its first book-style model called the Nubia Fold. The name may be straightforward, but the device turns out to be more intriguing than expected: it pairs a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with a large flexible display and one of the most capacious batteries you’ll find on a foldable.

The main 8-inch screen runs at 2480×2200 pixels and 120 Hz, while the 6.5-inch external AMOLED also refreshes at 120 Hz. The phone is slim at just 5.4 mm when open and, for this form factor, relatively light at 249 g.

Inside sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite, backed by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It isn’t the newest flagship chip, yet it delivers strong performance and helps keep the price below top-tier rivals. The model runs Android 15, carries an IP54 rating, and features two separate 20 MP selfie modules—one of them hidden under the inner display.

The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 5 MP macro module. One of the phone’s standout assets is its 6560 mAh battery—uncommon for foldables—paired with 55 W fast charging for added convenience.

In Japan, the Nubia Fold is priced at 178,560 yen ($1,145), with sales beginning on December 4, and a global debut planned for 2026. For Nubia, this launch marks a meaningful step and signals that the brand is ready to contend with the leaders of book-style foldables.
