GIGABYTE has expanded the X870E X3D lineup with the AERO X3D WOOD, a board that stands out not only for its Ryzen-ready platform but also for its aesthetics: a light wood finish on the VRM shroud and the M.2 area nudges the design toward living-room and interior-focused builds, where natural textures and restrained lighting take precedence over the typical gamer flash.
At its core are the flagship X870E chipset and an AM5 socket supporting Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors. The board carries a 16+2+2 digital power design and four DDR5 slots, with memory overclocking claimed up to 9000 MT/s using D5 Bionic Corsa profiles and AI-assisted tuning. For graphics, there’s a reinforced PCIe 5.0 x16 UD Slot X, plus a second PCIe 5.0 slot running at x8 and a third PCIe 4.0 slot at x4.
Storage is well covered with four M.2 connectors—two wired for PCIe 5.0 x4 and two for PCIe 4.0 x4—alongside four SATA ports. GIGABYTE says the built-in X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 can deliver up to a 25% boost in select games on Ryzen X3D chips when enabled, with the overall tuning positioned as “AI assisted” within the X870E X3D family.
Cooling and build convenience get special attention: VRM Thermal Armor Advanced uses a direct-touch heatpipe and high-conductivity thermal pads, while sizable M.2 Thermal Guard heatsinks and the M.2 EZ-Flex mechanism streamline both thermals and installation. A PCB Thermal Plate on the back is credited with a 14% improvement in thermal behavior. For assembly, the board includes EZ-Latch quick releases for PCIe and M.2, Smart Fan 6, and a set of diagnostic LEDs and buttons.
Connectivity arrives fully loaded for work and play: two 5GbE ports, Wi‑Fi 7 with a directional antenna, plus two USB4 Type‑C ports with DP Alt Mode and HDMI output. The board has already appeared in an early hands-on video, and the first retailer listings are popping up—one of them suggests a price around $500 including taxes—though actual availability remains limited. The mix of specs and styling clearly aims at premium desktops that need performance without sacrificing the look of the room they sit in.
