Porsche Wireless Charging debuts: 11 kW for Cayenne Electric

At IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Porsche unveiled Wireless Charging, an inductive system that delivers up to 11 kW. Instead of plugging in, drivers simply park over a dedicated base pad—no cables, no wallbox. Energy transfers wirelessly between the pad and an underbody receiver with efficiency of up to 90 percent, and charging starts automatically once the car is aligned in the sweet spot. The cable-free setup is clearly designed to make topping up feel as routine as parking.

The first model to adopt the technology will be the Cayenne Electric, with a world premiere slated for late 2025. Sales of the pads are set to begin in 2026 through Porsche Centers and the brand’s online store. The system is integrated into the My Porsche app and comes with LTE and Wi‑Fi modules for remote updates—connectivity that should keep the experience smooth as the software evolves.
