Redmi Note 15 Pro+ proven tough with Dragon Crystal glass and IP69K

Redmi is preparing a bold entry into the smartphone market with the upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro+, which will officially launch on August 21. Ahead of the debut, Xiaomi president Lu Weibing decided to highlight the device’s resilience through a set of striking durability tests. In a video shared by the company, he subjected the phone to a series of hammer blows with tools of different sizes and then used a large pendulum to simulate a fall from 1.8 meters. Remarkably, after all this, the handset remained fully functional and showed no visible damage.

According to Xiaomi, this model introduces the strongest protective glass in the history of the Redmi Note line. The device is equipped with Dragon Crystal, a proprietary material first introduced with the Xiaomi 14 series. Rated at 860 HV0.025 on the Vickers hardness scale, it sets a new benchmark for the brand. On the back, the Note 15 Pro+ uses reinforced fiberglass, engineered to resist bending and offering up to ten times greater drop protection compared to conventional materials. The phone has also endured an industry-standard stress test involving 50 drops from a height of two meters onto granite, confirming its exceptional resistance.

The improvements are not limited to impact protection. The new series is the first to carry an IP69K rating, ensuring resistance to both high-pressure water and elevated temperatures. Xiaomi also emphasized that the device maintains water resistance even after a year of simulated heavy use, a rare long-term certification in the industry.

With this combination of toughness, longevity, and advanced waterproofing, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ positions itself as a standout option in the mid-range segment — a smartphone built not only for performance but also to withstand the rigors of daily life.
