Honor to launch 6.3-inch compact flagship with Dimensity 9500

A new piece of information from the well-known insider Digital Chat Station has shed light on Honor’s next move in the smartphone market. According to his report, the company is working on a compact flagship featuring a 6.3-inch display and powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor. The device is expected to launch in the first half of next year.

What makes this project notable is its positioning: the phone is described as thin, lightweight, and easy to handle, yet it will be equipped with a battery significantly larger than those found in comparable Apple and Samsung models. Despite its smaller form factor, the handset is said to match today’s top-tier smartphones in terms of features, ensuring that no essential functions are sacrificed.

When it comes to photography, expectations point to performance similar to OPPO’s Reno series and vivo’s S line. This suggests a balanced camera system designed to deliver strong results in both photo and video capture, without necessarily venturing into the territory of ultra-premium flagships.

Interestingly, the same source had hinted back in March that Honor was preparing a 6.3-inch compact flagship. The latest update indicates that the development of this project is now moving forward at full speed. While 2025 saw mainly Xiaomi and vivo release compact models, the real competition in the small-screen segment is set to unfold in 2026.
