Selfix case adds a rear screen and 2 TB microSD to iPhone 17 Pro

The world of smartphone accessories has a fresh curiosity that Android makers and case brands would be wise to watch. Dockcase has unveiled the Selfix case for the iPhone 17 Pro, which adds a secondary display on the back—making selfie shooting far more convenient.

The headline feature is a 1.6-inch AMOLED screen with a 480 × 480 resolution built right into the case. It lets users take selfies with the iPhone’s main cameras while previewing the shot on the rear display. The idea is straightforward yet effective: better image quality, more accurate framing, and the front camera becomes optional. The case draws power directly from the phone, needs no setup or pairing, and starts working as soon as it’s on.

Android users will find the concept familiar. Secondary screens have cropped up on phones from LG, Meizu, and Nubia, and Xiaomi recently revived the approach in the Xiaomi 17 Pro, using a rear display for camera previews and quick notifications. Yet as an accessory, this kind of solution remains rare—Selfix demonstrates that a second screen doesn’t have to live inside the phone’s chassis. It’s the sort of practical twist that often nudges the category forward.

There’s another unusual perk for an iPhone case: expandable storage. Selfix includes a microSD slot supporting cards up to 2 TB—an unexpected move against the backdrop of Apple’s traditionally closed ecosystem. For those who capture a lot of photos and video, that addition may prove just as compelling as the extra screen.

The case is planned in white, pink, and black, though price and release timing remain under wraps. There’s also no confirmation of versions for Android phones. Even so, Selfix neatly illustrates how a smart accessory can deliver features that have long felt overdue—and it wouldn’t be surprising if this approach helped shape the next wave of Android-focused add-ons.
