Realme 16 Pro series launches January 6 with Fukasawa's Urban Wild Design and Buds Air 8

Realme has officially set January 6 as the launch date for the Realme 16 Pro series. At the same time, the company unveiled the look of the devices, shaped with input from renowned industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa, a familiar collaborator for the brand.

This time, Fukasawa worked not only on the smartphones but also on the new Realme Buds Air 8, which will debut alongside the 16 Pro lineup. The overarching concept is called Urban Wild Design — a bid to merge natural themes with a modern city aesthetic. The idea is to make the devices feel organic while keeping them refined and technology-forward, a deliberate choice that reads as a push for character and coherence across the range.

The series will arrive in two nature-inspired shades. Master Gold will be available for the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+, while Master Grey will be exclusive to the Pro+ version. The gold finish draws on the warmth of wheat fields, and the grey evokes the texture of river pebbles with a soft, luminous sheen.

One of the headline features is the use of organic silicone — a first for the smartphone industry. Made from plant-based materials, it resists dirt and wear and offers a soft, pleasant touch. The body measures 8.49 mm thick, with design lines flowing smoothly from the back panel to the frame and display.

The camera module gets a PVD coating with glossy accents and a metal frame. The Realme Buds Air 8 follow the same design language and will come in Master Gold, Master Grey, and Master Purple. Their charging case echoes the shape of the phones’ camera block, aiming for a distinctly premium look.

All told, Realme is betting not only on specs but also on design — the 16 Pro series is set to be one of the most visually distinctive releases in recent memory.
