DJI is preparing to release its next-generation professional gimbal, the RS 5, which fresh leaks suggest will significantly outperform not only the RS 4 but even the more advanced RS 4 Pro. The information comes from insider Igor Bogdanov, who shared new details on the first fifth-generation stabilizer in the Ronin lineup.
Earlier, the RS 5 appeared in the U.S. Federal Communications Commission database, revealing a battery nearly 60% larger than the RS 4’s and more than 10% bigger than the RS 4 Pro’s. That bump should translate directly into stamina: operating time is expected to increase by roughly 15%. DJI is also said to equip the RS 5 with an improved charging system that can fully replenish the battery in just one hour.
The gimbal is set to maintain a 3‑kilogram payload rating while adding a Z‑axis indicator to streamline and speed up camera balancing. There is also talk of upgrades to intelligent framing and tracking, though specifics have not been detailed. If accurate, these are the kinds of practical tweaks crews notice first.
An official announcement date has not been disclosed. With the RS 4 Mini approaching its first year on the market, sources suggest the new flagship could arrive between late February and early April 2026. A window like that would keep anticipation simmering without stretching patience.
