A major trove of leaks tied to Apple’s internal codenames and software has surfaced online. The documents point to sweeping plans for the 2026 and 2027 model years — from a foldable iPhone and a milestone-edition handset to new Macs, iPads, and wearables. The roadmap reads as ambitious, and here is a focused look at the most telling themes.
In early spring, Apple could introduce the iPhone 17e with a refreshed C1X modem and MagSafe support. In tandem, a second-generation AirTag is expected, with improved tracking and more precise battery status data. If the timing holds, that refresh would set the tone for the year.
The company is preparing several additions to the home ecosystem: a new home hub with a camera, Face ID, and Apple Intelligence support; an updated HomePod mini 2; a new Apple TV; and a mysterious home accessory whose purpose remains undisclosed. The lineup points to a tighter, AI-aware household stack.
Early 2026 is expected to bring an iPad 12 on the A19 chip — an unusual choice for the base model. Apple is also readying iPad Air versions with M4 processors in two sizes, without major design changes. Alongside, the company is working on its most affordable MacBook with an A18 Pro aimed at competing with Chromebooks. Also slated for 2026: MacBook Air models with M5; MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max; plus new Mac mini, Mac Studio, and iMac Pro built on the M5 series. The push suggests Cupertino wants more headroom across price tiers.
One headline moment of 2026 could be the debut of a foldable iPhone in a Fold-style format. Opened up, it would resemble a compact iPad with a display around 7.7 inches. The leaks indicate it would skip Face ID and Dynamic Island in favor of Touch ID and a small cutout for the front camera. If it ships, that would be one of the bolder hardware pivots in years.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to adopt under-display Face ID, paving the way to remove Dynamic Island. The front camera would remain in a small cutout. Also anticipated: an A20 chip, stronger AI features, and updated connectivity modules.
An anniversary iPhone, planned for fall 2027, could become Apple’s first truly bezel-less phone. The selfie camera would sit under the display, and the body would have curved edges on all four sides.
Base iPhone 18 models are slated for spring 2027 with moderate updates, possibly a simplified haptics system and a revised camera button. Apple may also revive the Air lineup, making the model more affordable and adding a second camera. On paper, that reads as a bid to widen the entry ramp.
Apple has temporarily paused development of Vision headsets to focus on AI-powered smart glasses. They could arrive in 2027 or at the end of 2026. The shift underscores where the company sees the near-term payoff in wearables.
On pause: a foldable iPad; Vision Air; AR glasses prototypes; and a more affordable Vision Pro.
All details come from leaks tied to internal iOS 26 builds and Apple debug files. The company may change timelines, specifications, or cancel some devices altogether — especially those planned for late 2026 and 2027. As with any internal roadmap, plans are fluid.
