LG and Dolby unveil modular Sound Suite with Atmos FlexConnect

Dolby and LG have teamed up on a modular home audio system that will make its official debut at CES 2026. The newcomer, dubbed LG Sound Suite, leans on flexible setup options and Dolby’s Atmos FlexConnect—appearing in a soundbar configuration for the first time.

The LG Sound Suite lineup includes the H7 soundbar, the wireless rear speakers M7 and M5, and the W7 subwoofer. All components can be mixed and matched in more than two dozen configurations, ranging from a simple stereo pair to a full-fledged 13.1.7 home theater. It’s a sensible path for anyone looking to build a system step by step and tailor it to a specific room.

The headline feature is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which optimizes sound based on where the wireless speakers end up in your space. It’s designed for rooms where placement is dictated by outlets, furniture, or awkward layouts, keeping the presentation immersive and balanced even with unconventional speaker positions—a pragmatic fix for real-world living rooms.

Within this collaboration, FlexConnect is appearing in a soundbar for the first time. When the H7 is used as the primary device, the system can deliver Dolby Atmos FlexConnect with any TV. LG also plans a software update that will add native FlexConnect support to select premium TVs from the brand, including certain 2025 models.

CES 2026 will run in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, where LG and Dolby will showcase Sound Suite in action. The companies are betting that a modular design paired with smart sound tuning will make the system a versatile fit for modern living rooms.
