ChatGPT integrates with Apple Music for smarter music discovery

ChatGPT now plugs into Apple Music, turning an AI chat into a handy tool for finding and exploring new music. The assistant can suggest tracks, assemble playlists, and even let you play short song snippets directly in the conversation—no need to leave ChatGPT.

The tie-in became possible after OpenAI added support for third-party services; following Spotify, Apple Music has joined the platform. Full track playback inside ChatGPT isn’t available yet, but the AI already works with the service’s catalog, understands plain-language requests, and can curate selections for a specific mood, genre, or moment.

Crucially, Apple Music brings audio previews. Ask ChatGPT for, say, the biggest hits of 2025, and it will not only list them but also offer brief clips of the recommended songs. Spotify doesn’t provide this in ChatGPT, which makes Apple’s integration feel more interactive—a small distinction that changes how you browse.

Even without an Apple Music subscription, users can look up artists, albums, and playlists. Subscribers get more, including personalized playlists shaped by their prompts. The integration also makes tracking down “that one song” easier when the title slips your mind but a melody or bit of context still lingers—a thoughtful touch for those fuzzy-memory moments.
