The new OnePlus 15R has undergone a teardown by PBKreviews, and the outcome looks promising for anyone who values repairability. As the more affordable sibling to the flagship OnePlus 15, it mirrors much of the flagship’s build—a similarity that becomes obvious on the workbench.
The procedure begins in a familiar way: eject the SIM tray, warm the glass back, and gently separate the cover. Underneath, there’s immediate access to the camera assembly, secured with four Phillips screws. From there, patience matters: reaching the internal components requires removing 17 screws.
The battery flex cables sit under graphite film and copper tape, yet OnePlus includes convenient pull tabs along the sides of the cell, which makes extraction far easier. After disconnecting a few flex cables, the 32‑megapixel front camera lifts out, and the motherboard is held in place by just one screw.
The trickiest stage is the display removal. To get it out, you have to take off almost everything else, including the bottom cover, the rear panel, the auxiliary board, and the display ribbon cables—conditions that make a screen swap less user-friendly than other part replacements.
Even so, the OnePlus 15R earns a strong repairability score of 8.5 out of 10. The result points to a steady shift toward more serviceable hardware and leaves this model looking notably more maintenance‑friendly than many modern smartphones—a practical direction users are likely to appreciate.
